| Details: Mechanical Inspector Receiving Inspector Heavy Machinery Inspector Dimensional inspection and some specific ANSI knowledge  To perform inspection on machined parts, machined assemblies, raw materials and measuring instruments and tools, ensuring compliance with Flowserve and customer standards. Verifies that all elements of the product meet the specifications of the product design by using measurement instruments in coordination with design specifications. To receive, check in and forward materials, supplies and equipment to the end user or next processing station. Monitors special process operations to verify compliance, and documents all activities in writing.  Performance Standards (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)  1.      Must be able to meet all performance standards, qualifications, and have the required knowledge and skills of Inspector Level 1. 2.     Conducts designated visual inspections and dimensional checks on machined parts and machine part assemblies. Performs first-run, floor and final inspections, as directed, to assure that items meet required standards and conform to manufacturing specifications. 3.     Inspects raw materials for suitability for machining. 4.     May conduct non-destructive testing of parts, using designated testing equipment. 5.     Uses a variety of precision measuring and inspection instruments, equipment and gauges to conduct inspections and/or tests. Works from the less complex blueprints, specifications and engineering orders. Performs required computations to check measurements. 6.     Responsible for stamp or otherwise approving acceptable items as inspected, and/or rejecting as necessary. 7.     Maintains required records and prepares all paperwork relating to inspection. 8.     Maintains assigned work area in a clean and orderly condition. 9.     Operates fork truck, crane and power equipment. 10.     Makes required layouts on parts, forgings or castings, and set up tooling to perform needed inspections. 11.     Inspects the most complex types of product tooling, cutting tools and shop fabricated machine tools. Checks items completely for dimensions, patterns, lines, workmanship, adherence to tool design and other required standards. 12.     May make progressive checks of toolmakers' layouts on large complicated tooling during fabrication. 13.     Completes required identification of parts and material - marks parts with numbers and associated identification requirements. 14.     Interacts with customers and other third party inspectors as necessary. 15.     Operates PC as necessary - uses Baan, Agile and the time/attendance system. 16.     Calibration Qualification Details (if selected): o       Able to deal with calibration vendor, customers (auditors), and employees. o       Able to review calibration certifications prior to submitting to supervisor for approval. o       Maintains records control of all the gages going in and out of the plant. o       Calibrate all applicable mechanical and electronic gages per Flowserve procedure. o       Requires using the GageTrak Program to control gages. o       Issue gages to drawing requirements. o       Inspects required precision measuring instruments. Certifies that instruments meet acceptable standards. May perform some repair work on instruments o       Services required gauges and inspection tools and equipment, dismantling, cleaning, setting and calibrating them as needed. Qualifications Three (3) to six (6) years of previous experience in inspection of machined parts and machine part assemblies, or a demonstrated equivalent of knowledge and ability.  Required Knowledge and Skills 1.      Must be able to meet all performance standards, qualifications, and have the required knowledge and skills of Inspector Level 1. 2.      Receiving inspection (Level II) 3.      Machined parts (Level II) 4.      LPI (Level I) 5.      Plus two (2) choices of: a) Assembly  b) Press Test  c) Shipping  d) Magnetic Particle  e) Welding  f) Gauge Lab  Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
